One song, one filmed performance, three weeks of VFX — a music video where live action and visual effects share every frame.
The artist THEME — Trent Mason — came to the studio with a finished song and no fixed visual direction. The brief was open and honest: build the film around a filmed performance, and add VFX to it. Everything else was ours to find.
We filmed the full performance in a few hours — a single, clean session planned around the coverage a VFX-heavy edit would need. Then the concept work began: over roughly three weeks we developed the visual story and built the effects around the footage, composing a world the performance could live inside.
This is the studio's hybrid technique in its purest form — real cinematography as the spine, visual effects as the atmosphere, and an edit that never lets the two read as separate crafts.
A few hours of shooting became a film with far greater presence — the concept and VFX pass substantially raised the production value of the original footage. Same artist, same song, a video that finally matched both.
